James Dodd/TwoNineTwo Honda Report From British Championship

James Dodd and the TwoNineTwo Honda Motocross Team left Winscombe, Somerset and once again headed North last weekend, this time the destination was Doncaster for the opening round of this years British Motocross Championship, it was always going to be a tough weekend with James competing in the ultra competitive MX1 class, which included around a dozen World Championship level riders, and things were made even harder as heavy rain at the venue left track conditions extremely difficult.
Qualifying didn’t go too well for James as he struggled to get to grips with the circuit, and continues to adapt to his new Honda 450cc bike, only managing to set the 36th fastest lap time.
Race 1 saw James at the back from the start but he soon started to pick up a few positions, and by mid race he was up into the low 30’s. He continued to battle on but by the time the finish flag was raised, 29th was as far as he could advance to and outside of a points scoring top 20 finish.
In between races, a heavy snow storm and more rain made the conditions resemble something more like the Weston Beach Race as James headed out for race 2, but he seemed to like them as a better start saw him inside the top 30 after a lap, but he was soon pulling himself up the order picking up places at a consistent race. With a few laps to go he had made it into 20th and he continued to push on picking up 2 more places near the end to claim an 18th place finish and a well earned 4 championship points.
This coming weekend see’s James hoping for more points as he heads off to  round 2 of the series scheduled (weather permitting) at Canada Heights in Kent, Thanks as always to sponsors, St Blazey Mx, Merge Decals, FLi Distribution/Oneal, Illumin Distribution/EKS Goggles, CGH Imports/Pro Circuit,  AT Motocross, County Flat Roofing, Burfield Creative, Winscombe Fish Bar, Chris Brown and AdeMX for their support.
