Great news emerged this week that the Heads & All Threads Suzuki MX2 rider, Graeme Irwin, has obtained a wild card entry into round three of the FIM World Championship this weekend at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands.
This will give Irwin and the team a chance to see how they compare to some of the worlds best riders this year, but he’s no stranger to the GP’s. He competed as MX2 back in 2009 and for the first few rounds in 2011 as MX1 until a major crash at the French GP resulted in a broken neck.
Obviously now fully recovered, Graeme talks about his expectations for the event by saying it’s hard to know what to expect as he hasn’t raced against this MX2 line-up, but he goes on to say:
“I know my speed’s good and the bike’s working really well so we’ll just find where we are , try to progress through the weekend and put in two good, strong rides.”
“I’d love to be in the top ten but there’s a lot of fast guys in there so we’ll just take it how it comes. I know what I’m capable of and my speed, especially in sand, is pretty good at the minute.”
Qualifying for the Valkenswaard GP is on Sunday the 31st of March with racing on Easter Monday. Updates for the team will follow on both days.
