The fourth round of the FIM Motocross World Champion was raced today on the hard pack track of Arco di Trento in Italy. The slick track forced the riders to push intensively.

ICE1Racing rider Xavier Boog had a reasonably good start and was able to keep his position with only a couple of position changes through out the whole first moto and finished eighth.

Rui Gonçalves on the other hand couldn’t find his rhythm, although he started very strong and came third to the first corner. During the first rounds of the first moto he fell behind and was unable to climb back to the top ten, Gonçalves finished fourteenth.

The first moto rose mixed feelings with its’ results.”Xavier is back in business, but Rui who had a great start struggles with the track. I hope both of our riders can enter the top ten in the world championship classification”, commented their team manager Antti Pyrhönen after the first moto.

Antonio Cairoli ITA (KTM) won the first moto, second was Gautier Paulin FRA (Kawasaki) and third wasClement Desalle BEL (Suzuki).

The second moto started very strong for the team, Boog was third in the first corner and Gonçalves right behind him fourth. Boog held on to his position for two thirds of the race and was able to ride a great moto with a finish in seventh position.

“The hard track suits me better than the sand, so this weekend was much better than Valkenswaard. In the second moto I would have needed a little bit more speed to keep the few riders in the last bit of race behind me, but I’m satisfied with the weekend and set for the next steps towards the top,” commented Boog after the GP.

Gonçalves had to give a few positions more, yet improved the speed from the first moto and finished twelfth.

“Weekend was tough for me, but I won’t give up. I just want to forget the small mistakes I made this weekend and take the positive steps we’ve made with me, I’m sure I bounce back in Bulgaria next weekend”, commented Gonçalves.

Antonioa Cairoli won also the second moto, his team rider Ken de Dycker BEL (KTM) was second from the start all the way to the finish line and Max Nagl GER (Honda) climbed third.

Both of the ICE1Racing riders are back in the top ten in the World Championship Classification, Rui Gonçalves climbed to seventh position with 89 points and Xavier Boog is ninth with 83 points.
