Race Control: Oakland

Everything that you, the fans, need.

Published

on

The various teams that contest the Monster Energy Supercross series jumped onto Interstate 5 this week, as the circus travelled north to Oakland. The Oakland Alameda County Coliseum, which is just a short drive from San Francisco, has become a regular stop in recent years, but will shake things up this time around.

The action will take place much earlier than usual, so opening ceremonies will take place in daylight and the main events will conclude early on in the evening! This edition of Race Control will be vital if you plan on catching all of the racing.

Useful Information

– The Monster Energy Supercross series is changing by the week, as different riders make gains whilst others begin to slow. Seeing as there is so much happening, and we still have so many unanswered questions, you’ll undoubtedly want to follow the action on Saturday 28th February. We can help with that, as we are at the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum and poised to provide extensive coverage.

– In order to catch all of that content, it is vital that you follow our social media channels and log onto this site regularly. You can follow us on Twitter (@motocrossvice), Instagram (@mxvice) and SnapChat (mxvice). Presumably you are already one of our followers on Facebook? If not, like the page that is named MXVice.com.

– Much like it was at the first three rounds, rain will be a factor this weekend. A wet weather schedule, which you’ll find above, has already been implemented and the track is covered, but will that be enough? Precipitation is expected on Saturday this time around, which means that the track crew may be powerless.

– The extremely popular Race Day Live show will be on for three hours on Saturday, starting at 09:50am (local time). You’ll be able to watch practice and qualifying live from that point on, no matter where you are in the world, as long as you have this link. The action will not stop there, as international fans have a chance to watch the night show live thanks to this pay-per-view service. Those in America and Canada will have to catch the main events live on Fox Sports 2 (at 19:00 ET).

– All of the information that we have handed to you here will be useless if you ignore this bullet point. Oakland is a day race, so the times are completely different to what they have been. That means that, if you are in the UK, the qualifying stream will start at 17:50. Take note! We are eight hours ahead of the United Kingdom here in Northern California.
