The PHOENIX TOOLS MOTOCROSS TEAM will be aboard Husqvarna Motorcycles for 2015 and hopefully beyond.
While this year is not yet over (by far!)… The move to the new brand is a positive step forward for this year`s top UK privateer team and will be even more of a force next year.
The position to fill the official Husqvarna Motorcycles UK team spot follows the withdrawal of the Dantec Husqvarna Team at the end of this season and will certainly be a tough act to follow, however, the highly motivated Phoenix Tools Team are up to the job with a wealth of experience and an ever-growing pool of support from which to draw.
A great team atmosphere is apparent under the Phoenix awning and all the team members work, train, ride and prepare together which has helped them to achieve their goals this season.
The rider team has now been finalised:
MX1 – Luke Hawkins – Alex Snow – Scott Elderfield
MX2 – Michael Eccles – Alfie Smith – Luke Norris
Barry Moore (Team Manager): “We are really pleased to be using Husqvarna Motorcycles next year. The tie up with this brand will take us even further up the motocross ladder and it means we can retain our great relationship with Mike Carter through his Husky Sport dealership, who has already helped us so much this year. We always wanted to focus on young UK riders and use our skills and expertise to help them up to the mark and with the racers we have signed this year, we are really excited about the prospects. They are all great riders and bring so much talent to the table. The guys at Husqvarna are great too. We have already started to build a good working relationship and we are all looking forward to the coming season(s)”.
Dickie Dye (Team Principal): “We are in the right place at the right time… This move to Husqvarna will give us the machinery to really turn some heads next year. We have tested the standard bikes which are superb and have experience and support from not only Husqvarna Motorcycles UK, but also Matt at Evotech and we are still working with Don Leib and Rocket exhausts in the USA and of course Gavin at G-Force (our suspension guru), to provide all the boys with race bikes on which they can win.”
The riders we have next year are all “special” in my opinion. They all have loads to offer and all bring speed and talent to the table. It is my job to harness this talent and direct it into winning races… We have several races still left this year which we will really focus on and no doubt we will finish with a flourish. I won`t allow anyone to take their eye`s off the ball…”
All the riders are really excited about the 2015 season and over the next few weeks we will provide you with an up-to-date bio` of the riders, their aims and goals and ultimate ambitions in motocross.
David Edwards – Husqvarna Motorcycles UK Brand Manager
“Following on from the job that Matt and the team at Dantec Husqvarna UK have done in 2014 is going to be a tough ask for anyone. But I believe the team at Phoenix Tools have what is needed to do this very well and carry on the successes that Husqvarna Motorcycles have had in the UK so far since the brands re-birth in 2013.
All the team are dedicated and hungry to get results on the track and I like their approach and determination as to how they will achieve this. I am looking forward to working with all of the team and I am sure that on the new machinery, the riders will achieve some great results in 2015.”
