Oakleaf Kawasaki’s Shane Carless leading Pheonix Premier Championship

On Sunday Oakleaf kawasaki mx1 rider  Shane Carless travelled the 4h journey down to round 2 of the Phoenix Premier Championship . A cold days racing for all at Fraddon Moto Parc, nr Newquay in Cornwall still attracted many top class riders and spectators and again a lot of effort had been put in which was to produce a brilliant days racing in all

Shane’s mx1 partner Alex Snow and current leader of the Championship was a non starter after having surgery because of a shoulder injury meant Shane and the Team had only 1 thing on there mind and that was to come away with Shane leading the championship , even though time has been spent dialling in sand tracks for the start of the British Championship & Lyng next week ,the Team and Shane new that valuable points on a not  so known track was the expectation of the job in hand

Qualification was up and Carless set the 3rd fastest time behind Whatley and Hawkins on a track that was tight, fast and battling against a lot of traffic ment Shane never got a full clear lap in but was pleased to be getting a good gate pic

In the opening race .

Shane was to come round the first corner in the top 10 and had his sights set on pulling up through , disaster truck and a slight mistake ment he dropped the bike and was out of the tip 10 , he re mounted and pulled back up to 5th and passing Alba on the last lap to finish off a not so satisfied race from Shane’s expectations

In the second moto

it was Hawkins who had the best start from Oakleaf Kawasaki’s Shane Carless and John May with Whatley there in 4th. It was a better start from Carless and he got himself in to a good position a settled to take 3rd and some valuable points

In the 3rd moto

Whatley hit the front from the start followed by Hill and Hawkins, but the real battle was going on for 3rd between Carless , Hill Jackson Evans, Skuse and who were all over each other , carless had to settle for another 5th as he picked up a front wheel puncture and was disappointed with the result

Team said

The job we set out to do has been successful and Shane is now leading the series although not the best results for the normal expectations from Shane , we can now go to the 3rd round of the British Championship with heads held high as its been a little disappointment to the start of the season with championship races being canceled with the bad weather and Alex getting injured but Shane is giving a 100% and that’s the commitment we are looking for and now leading the Phoenix Premier Championship it’s a good championship to be leading , see u guys at Lyng
