Great news for Alex Snow and also Oakleaf! After the recent disappointment regarding PAR pulling their original contract, Alex Snow has been given the opportunity to ride for the Oakleaf Kawasaki team in 2012. Both Alex and Oakleaf are local to the South West area which makes perfect sense logistically.
Oakleaf have gone from strength to strength from 2011 – 2012 with their line up of Alex Snow MX1, James Dodd MX2 and Jake Millward Rookie/MX2 threatening to gatecrash an already competitive British Championships. Snow proved in 2011 that he can run in the top 3 of MX1.
Alex Snow (Mx1) had this to say:
‘I guess this was all a blessing in disguise really after everything that has happened lately. I’ve know Shaun and the family for years and he has been keen to sort a deal out all year. Obviously with his hard work and a massive push from Ross at Kawasaki we have managed to put a really good package together and although the team are quite new to the British championship paddock, i have all the trust in the world that me and Shaun can produce some great results again next year. I know Shaun is just excited to be taking the team to the next level and my goals will be the same as always which will be to give it 110% and i’ll be aiming to get on the box and push for that first win that im still waiting for!’
Shaun Anthony (Team owner) had this to say:
‘3 years ago I started Oakleaf mx team with a ambition of competing at British championship level, last season our ambition succeeded by signing mx2 rider James Dodd.
Foxhills was our first outing in the series and to come away with 15th overall and Doddys best result competing against some world class riders was a great experience for all, the team achieved more than I expected, from what we had anticipated this time last year. Although doddy had bad luck with injuries at the closing point of the season , I am glad to have him with us for 2012 again competing in the Maxxis & RedBull MX2 championships as I feel with the team support he is more than capable of top 10 finishes.
For 2012 I am delighted to have captured the signatures of 2 new riders Alex Snow and Jake Millward .
After talks with Ross Burridge at Kawasaki Motors we finalised a package to run World GP point scorer and top british championship rider Alex Snow.
Alex is a big name and has proved he can compete at the front ,he will be riding the awesome new kxf450 for us and I am really looking forward to working with him as, his own ambition and attitude matches ours.
last season we supported young talented rider Tommy Alba in the Rookies, and managed to help him to a 5th overall in the championship, Tommy has now departed from the team on good terms and we are delighted to have kept our commitment in supporting young Talent in Jake Millward , last sason runner up in the Redbull Rookie and consistent top 5 finishes in the mxy2 he will also be one to watch and a top contender, Jake will also compete in the Maxxis Mx2 and has his sights on a top 15 in his first pro season.
2012 has also opened the door to new sponsors of which i am still finalising but i feel we will have a awsome set up with the KXF250/450 bikes and am certain of putting those involved at the front of the best uk championships,
I would like to thank our 2011 and continuing sponsors Albion Motorcycles, wizard wash, Kye Forte@ DC , AT MX, and all local buisnesses to the team base in Taunton for there support.’

I am pleased that at last Alex has a deal. In many respects I am happy that he is still on Kawasaki we know the bike and he has tried the 2012 model. Now the work begins in setting it up for him. Many of you will have read the report of his 2011 bike in Moto Magazine well you know where that set up came from :- the work that Alex and I put into it, say no more.
Onto 2012, I think Al and I need to put 120% into it we just need that little bit more to get on the top step of the podium and with the support of Shaun and the Team we have every possibility of achieving that goal
