New Deal: Arminas Jasikonis

There you have it, folks, the final MXGP frontrunner has announced his plans for the upcoming FIM Motocross World Championship. Fans have been desperately trying to find out who Arminas Jasikonis has signed for, but he was not allowed to say a word until the year concluded. So, now that we have officially left the previous year behind, it is official that Arminas Jasikonis has signed for Assomotor Honda.

Finally,” Arminas proclaimed on his social media. “Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone [has] been waiting for an official announcement from me on which colour I’m gonna [sic] ride in the 2018 season… It’s a red one! I’m pleased to announce that I’m gonna [sic] ride for Assomotor Honda. I’m very excited to work with these people and I’m thankful for [them] believing in me and giving this chance.

Arminas Jasikonis hit new highs with Suzuki World MXGP, the team that gave him a shot on the world stage, last year and was hot property when he became a free agent. Raw speed was evident when the series started and he then harnessed that as the rounds progressed. A brace of thirds at the fixture in Portugal were undoubtedly a highlight. Jasikonis ended thirteenth overall in the final standings, despite the fact that he missed the final two rounds with a dislocated hip, but that injury is now no longer an issue and he is busy putting in laps aboard his new steed.

The Assomotor Honda team will enter the FIM Motocross World Championship with two new riders. The Italian outfit ran with Valentin Guillod and Alessandro Lupino last year, but Petar Petrov will join Arminas Jasikonis beneath the awning over the next twelve months. Petrov endured a turbulent campaign that included countless injuries, but will be hoping that his luck changes as he enters the premier division for the first time.
