Zach Osborne will not race at round nine of 2021 Monster Energy Supercross, Daytona, this weekend. Osborne has been dealing with a bulging disc in his lumbar spine since the Tuesday before Orlando 2 and hoped to be better by this point. That is not the case, however, so he will miss Saturday’s race to ensure that he can be at full fitness when he next hits the track. Osborne confirmed the news via this statement.
“Unfortunately, I am going to be sitting out this weekend in Daytona due to my back issue that occurred the week before Orlando 2. I’ve undergone some treatment this week and I feel that I’m on a good path to recovery as well as eliminating this from happening in the future. I look forward to being back with my @RockstarHusky team as soon as I’m fully fit and ready to race again. Thanks for the support and I will be back better than ever.“
Osborne is currently seventh in the premier-class championship standings, following a difficult start to the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season. A third at Orlando 1 was a season-best finish.
