AMA unveil 2018 numbers

Prepare for the new season.

Published

on

PICKERINGTON, Ohio – The American Motorcyclist Association has announced the professional competition numbers for pro-licensed riders competing in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, and the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship for the 2018 season.

All riders use the assigned professional number for competition. In addition, the current champion runs the No. 1 plate instead of an assigned professional number when competing in the class or region in which the No. 1 plate was earned. When competing in a class other than the class where the championship was earned, the rider must use the assigned professional number.

ClubMX Update: Jeremy Martin back for Daytona, Reynolds has surgery and Schock ready to rock again

Check it out.

COOL BIKE DUDE!: The construction of this bike and the reason we built it was par for the course at ClubMX. We appreciate all the military does for this country and we will take any opportunity to thank them for their service. SKDA, Acerbis, FXR and Dubya all got onboard for this project and it came out perfect. It turned out so well that we loaded it on the truck to show off at Daytona this weekend. From the comments and support from active and retired military in attendance in Arlington, we thought it would be cool to share it with the Daytona crowd as well. If you did not get a chance to see or photograph it in person last weekend, swing by our pit area this weekend.

GOOD NEWS: JEREMY MARTIN #6: Jeremy will be returning to action this weekend in Daytona. He has been training all week and completed the session with practising his starts today. Travel day tomorrow and he will be ready to line up in Daytona – a track he really enjoys. It has been ample time since Detroit to get back in the swing of things and he feels that he can be competitive. We all realise that these things take time, but Jeremy is a competitor at the highest level so although we will temper our expectations, we will celebrate his return to action.

JETT REYNOLDS #99: Jett’s shoulder surgery went well, and he is on the mend. The doctor said everything should heal nicely and he can return to riding after his physical therapy shows the progress they are looking for. Of course you will not see him in Daytona and we will keep you updated on his inevitable return. Jett’s a good kid and continues to deserve a chance at success. He will get there.

COTY SCHOCK #69: Coty carries the banner for the race team on the east coast at this point. Can you believe he is tied for 3rd in overall points after two rounds? We believe it as he continues to use his maturity and consistency to ride near the front. We all believe that is what it will take to have overall success this season and Coty appears to be the man for the job. Daytona is a track he has circled on his calendar because it suits his “loose” style. With the amount of training and racing he has done with the team so far this season, he continues to gain comfort and confidence in himself and the team. This will lead to even better results as we continue to click off events headed to the half way point in the season. If you pay close attention to Coty on race day, you will see his starts are really good. This has put him in a great position to start the season and as he continues to gel with the Yamaha, it can only get better.

ClubMX as a training facility has welcomed Jason Anderson this week. Jason is a brilliant rider and recognizes the opportunity to train at our facility will give him an advantage on the east coast races. ClubMX offers a variety of soil compositions on three different Dirt Wurx built tracks to get ready for whatever race is on the schedule next.

FUTURES: As if Daytona was not crazy enough, we will have three riders in the Futures program on Saturday. Mark Fineis (105), Trevin Nelson (112) and Alex Fedortsov (600) will all represent us in this amazing program. Feld along with the AMA have created this platform for amateur riders to get a taste of the big leagues. The Futures riders will mix right into the Saturday night schedule to see first-hand what it is like to be a professional and race under the lights. On Friday at 3:00 pm, there is a one hour classroom session for all of the participants and I have been invited to make a presentation. If you truly want to see the future of the sport, stop by and get a glimpse for yourself.
