I’m sure you had already figured out who would be representing Ireland at the Motocross of Nations, even without the official announcement. If you hadn’t give it much thought, however, Graeme Irwin (MXGP), Martin Barr (MX2) and Stuart Edmonds (Open) will be travelling to Italy next month.
All riders are on top form at the moment, so things are looking good for the small nation. The biggest question mark hovers above Graeme Irwin’s head though, as he is currently dealing with a thumb injury. He has just over a month to recover, but he may be a little rusty when it comes to lining up at the most prestigious event on the calendar.
Philip McCullough, the team manager, has also named three reserve riders. Gary Gibson, Jason Meara and John Meara are waiting in the wings.
