The Autotrader Monster Energy JGR Suzuki team have endured a turbulent time in recent weeks, as three of their riders have crawled onto the sidelines with significant injuries. The black cloud that has been overshadowing them struck again earlier, unfortunately, as Phil Nicoletti crashed on press day in Arlington and sustained an ankle injury.
“We will do everything we can to help Phil make a quick and full recovery,” said Jeremy Albrecht in a team press release. No specific details have been released, aside from that the injuries are to his left heel and ankle, but more information should be issued once he has met with physicians.
In more JGR-related news, it has been confirmed that Kyle Peters has been drafted in to replace the injured Matt Bisceglia in the 250SX East class. The former-podium finisher injured his foot in the off-season and is expected to miss one or two rounds.
Jake Weimer will be the sole rider beneath the JGR tent this weekend, currently sits sixteenth in the 450SX standings and will be in action until Peick returns to racing.
