Nate Thrasher has just posted an extremely cryptic message on social media, which confirms that he had minor surgery after Thunder Valley and will miss High Point this weekend. There is no word on what the injury was – he finished both motos with no issues at Thunder Valley, going 11-10 for twelfth overall on the day. An excerpt from his social media is below.
“Sorry for the late update! I had a minor operation last week and will unfortunately miss this weekend at High Point. I’m recovering quick and we will be ready for Red Bud! I want to give a huge shout out to my team for always sticking behind me.”
Thrasher opted out of the final round of 2021 Monster Energy Supercross to put full effort into his preparation for 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross, but the outdoor campaign has been far from easy so far. That tenth in the second moto at Thunder Valley was a season-best finish – he did not even crack the top fifteen at the opening round. Thrasher sits thirteenth in the championship standings, but his ranking will obviously suffer after round three.
It now seems as though Jeremy Martin will not race at High Point, despite reports that he would give it a go, so Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha will be represented by Jarrett Frye, Colt Nichols and Justin Cooper in 250MX.
