It seems like quite a while ago now that Lewis Trickett was on the rise and tipped as one of the greatest talents in the Maxxis British Championship. A turbulent path, which has included countless injuries, has created many highs and lows since then.
Trickett appeared to be building himself back up though, after joining the ASA Scaffolding Honda team at the beginning of this season. Another blow has caused him to step away from racing, however, despite the fact that he currently sits second in the two-stroke standings.
“Unfortunately due to an ongoing back injury that has been troubling Lewis for the past few seasons, he has taken the advice given by the specialist not to continue riding until he has undergone surgery,” his team confirmed on social media. “We are gutted about the news and it’s a blow as Lewis was sitting second in the Maxxis British [Championship] two-stroke class.“
