|“Sure it was disappointing, especially after such a good preparation up until that point. A crash is never a welcomed plan changer. Even thought the recovery took longer than expected, yet I was able to put together good physical training combined with excellent rehab. I did my best and luckily I’m on the bike in time”, commented Gonçalves.Gonçalves pulled the ligaments from his right thumb in the crash more than three weeks ago. The hand didn’t require any operation and Gonçalves was able to return back to riding in prime time. The first GP of the season will be race in ten days in Qatar.|
“Sure the season start is very close, but I will be able to put good rounds in on the track this week. The first two rounds will be tough tough, I still have pain in the hand. But I will survive this. The focus is in the long season, so by the GP in Valkenswaard I hope to be 100% fit”, continued Gonçalves.
