KTM has just celebrated a golden weekend in offroad racing by sealing two more World Championship titles with Antoine Meo and Christophe Nambotin in the Enduro World Championship round 11-12 in Kastoria, Greece. Plus claiming a clean 1-2-3 podium in the Desafio Ruta 40 Rally.
The results speak for themselves as KTM, its bikes and its factory riders once again set the gold standard in multi discipline international-level offroad racing. The company, now the biggest European motorcycle manufacturer, continues to be true to its “READY TO RACE” philosophy, just as it maintains its dominant position in offroad motorsports.
World Enduro Championship, Rounds 11/12
Excitement mounted in KastoriaGreeceon Saturday after KTM factory riders Antoine Meo and Christophe Nambotin both finished round 11 of the 2013 World Enduro Championships in style to open the prospect of taking both world titles on Sunday.
The two French riders did not disappoint. In Round 12, they were both the outstanding riders in their respective disciplines and at the end of the day it was time for the KTM Enduro Factory Team to unfoil the celebratory banners and congratulate another two World Champions. Both Meo in E1 and Nambotin in E3 retain their 2012 titles, also won for KTM, and both can be lauded for near faultless performances in the current season. They were stellar performers on a whole range of terrain and can now go to the final two rounds of the championship in St. Flour inFrance(September 7-8) as the conquering heroes of a very tough racing discipline.
Scene change, Saturday: Final Stage Desafio Ruta 40
The KTM Rally Factory Team went to the Desafio Ruta 40 inArgentina with three riders to take part in the fourth leg of the six-leg World Cross Countries Rally Championship, which is also part of the Dakar Challenge Series. In what was one of the closest finishes in a long time and it was American Kurt Caselli who won both the final stage and the overall victory with teammates Chaleco Lopez ofChile and Marc Coma ofSpain joining him on the all-Orange podium with their KTM 450 Rally bikes.
