Following some great results at the Maxxis British Motocross Championship event at Hawkstone Park, the new Team STR KTM pairing of Nez Parker and Jamie Law are in buoyant mood as they head to Loket in the Czech Republic for round 12 of the FIM Motocross World Championship (4 and 5 August 2012).
Matiss Karro remains out of action having suffered severe concussion and a compression fracture to his T8 vertebrae in a crash at Uddevalle in Sweden a few weeks ago. Jamie Law, who has until recently been riding for Nez Parker, replaces Karro, while Parker returns to World Championship duties after two months on the side lines with an injured ankle.
Jamie Law will be riding on Karro’s 350, a machine he much prefers to Parker’s 450, particularly its ability to get off the start. Nez Parker will be on board his new 2013 KTM 450, on which he had his season’s best performance at Hawkestone Park last weekend. After some impressive riding on home soil Parker and Law are hungry for World Championship points and looking forward to showing what they can do on their new mounts on the World stage.
Loket, 150 kilometres from Prague, is a tough hard packed track so hard tyres and throttle control will be key to success; unless the forecast thunderstorms roll in over the weekend. The track also utilises all of the varied natural terrain that includes several drop offs and a long straight.
Team Manager, Steve Turner said: “Both Nez and Jamie rode really well on their new bikes last weekend. I am now looking forward to seeing how they get on at this weekend’s GP in the Czech Republic. They are both capable of scoring points and it would be fantastic if they both broke into the top 20. They are confident going into the GP so, barring any crashes, I think we are looking forward to some great results.”
