Updated: Michele Cervellin
Michele Cervellin moves on from Martin Racing.

24 May (22:43) |
Following the announcement earlier today, Michele Cervellin has announced that he will represent SM Action Yamaha through the remaining rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship. SM Action started the season with Alvin Ostlund, who broke his ankle at the Grand Prix of Latvia two weeks ago. Cervellin will make his debut with his new squad at the Grand Prix of Great Britain next weekend.

The Martin Racing Technology Honda squad announced earlier today that Michele Cervellin, who has been with the crew for ten years, has parted ways with the team effective immediately, despite the fact that he has achieved some of the best results of his career thus far this season.
A reason for this switch has not yet been confirmed and Michele Cervellin has not made himself available for comment. The Martin Racing outfit did confirm that they did everything possible to try and persuade him to stick with the squad, who he has enjoyed success with in the last twelve months, though. It is obvious that Cervellin has alternative plans in place with one of the smaller teams that is in need of a fill-in rider, but it remains to be seen where he is heading.
Michele Cervellin currently runs tenth in the MX2 standings, despite the fact that he missed rounds two and three with an injury. A third-place finish in the second moto at the Grand Prix of Russia earlier this month was a career highlight.
More on this developing story will be posted on MX Vice in due course.
