Glenn Coldenhoff found himself in a difficult situation during the first MXGP moto in Portugal when Calvin Vlaanderen crashed just behind the finish jump. Coldenhoff was not far behind and, due to the limited visibility caused by the mud, did not see that Vlaanderen was lying behind the jump. He jumped over it, and fortunately, both Coldenhoff and Vlaanderen remained unharmed.
After the race, Coldenhoff received a five-point penalty for the incident.
