Statement: Pocock on 2019

Following on from the exclusive MX Vice interview with Revo Husqvarna’s Mark Yates earlier this month, questions are still being asked about what Mel Pocock is going to do next year. It seems as though, based on his latest social-media caption, nothing has been decided yet. Pocock revealed that he is working on some things though and obviously hopes to be on the starting line next year. The statement that he released is below.

“Still got my head in my hands atm [sic] about now not having a ride for 2019. Been lucky to jump in with my family business, @MGPSteel, and help out where I can recently. I am in talks with an option for next season, but with nothing in place yet for 2019 rides are slim so late in the year. Hope to be on the start line for 2019!”

Mel Pocock had a successful term, as he finished third in the Maxxis British Championship and won two of the seven rounds. Additionally, in the European series that runs alongside the FIM Motocross World Championship, he finished second and won two motos during the season. Pocock is not eligible to compete in that series next season, now that a new age-restriction rule has been introduced.
