SCOTT Sports is proud to announce the release of our latest and greatest Camo Edition moto goggles.

To coincide with the San Diego round of the 2020 AMA Monster Energy Supercross Championship, an event long associated with military appreciation, SCOTT is showcasing our new special release Camo Edition goggles at the race on February 8th.

The Camo Edition Prospect is designed with a stealth-style black and grey camo print, which can be found on the strap as well as on the inner part of the frame. Reflective silver SCOTT logo’s on the strap complement the silver chrome WORKS lens to give these goggles the ultimate pro look.

Featuring the widest field of vision on the market, NoSweat Face Foam, the innovative SCOTT Lens Lock System, a 50mm strap, articulating outriggers and more, the Camo Edition Prospect goggle is guaranteed to defend your vision no matter how hard you attack the track.

The Camo Edition Fury comes with a classic khaki woodland camo strap and a subtle yet super-stylish grey/army green frame. A yellow chrome WORKS lens pulls the whole color scheme together.

Shaped by innovation, technology and design, the Camo Edition Fury follows in the footsteps of its big brother, the Prospect. Featuring a massive field of vision, our proven SCOTT Lens Lock System, 3-Layer face foam, a no-slip silicon strap and supporting all the same accessories as the Prospect, the Fury is a great choice for tech-loaded yet low-profile alternative to the Prospect.

Coinciding with the San Diego round of the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, which will take place at PETCO Park, San Diego, CA on February 8th , the Prospect and Fury Camo Edition goggles will be available soon after the event.

The goggles will be worn by a selection of SCOTT athletes for the race, so keep an eye out to see the SCOTT Camo Edition Goggles on the San Diego start gate!

Ducati unlocks the Desmo450 MX

Published

on

Ducati unveiled their new Desmo450 MX to the press today with no expense spared. MX Vice was invited to the press event over a few days. All eyes were on the Desmo450 MX that Tony Carioli and Alessandro Lupino will ride this year in the Italian Championship. With so much doom and gloom in the industry, purse strings are being tightened, and budgets slashed, it’s great to see Ducati investing. MX Vice will be following Ducati’s developments throughout 2024 and 2025.

The official PR is below:

After Ducati announced last October 24 its entry into the world of motocross with a range of models that will be available on the market in the next few years, Ducati Corse Off-Road, the Ducati division in charge of racing activity in the world of knobby tyres, has now presented the two prototypes that will be used by Antonio Cairoli and Alessandro Lupino in 2024, in Madonna di Campiglio during the Campioni in Pista event.

The Desmo450 MX, this is the name of the new model, was presented on the PalaCampiglio stage in the racing livery that it will sport in competition this year – in the Italian Motocross Pro – Prestige MX1 Championship – by the Ducati Corse R&D – Factory MX Team managed by Corrado and Marco Maddii. The target of this first season of racing is mainly to acquire data and information in racing to contribute to the development of the Desmo450 MX that will go into production in the second half of 2025.

It will be Alessandro Lupino who will take part in all the rounds of the Italian Championship, as well as in an intense testing program, in which he will be joined by Antonio Cairoli.

The race debut of the Ducati Desmo450 MX is planned for March 16 and 17 in Mantua for the first round of the Italian Motocross Pro Prestige MX1 Championship.

Claudio Domenicali (CEO Ducati Motor Holding)

“It is a great pleasure to inaugurate another Ducati racing season in Madonna di Campiglio, a location that perfectly expresses the values of ‘Made in Italy’ of which we are proud ambassadors and which last year represented the starting point of an unforgettable season. The path that has led us to be the best in the world in racing is undoubtedly made up of the hard daily work of these years, but also of our ability to work as a team and have fun while putting our maximum effort into what we do. One of the strong elements of our brand is the ability to create a system and today we demonstrate this by jointly presenting the official teams for the 2024 racing season: the Ducati Lenovo Team, the Aruba.it – Racing Ducati Team and the novelty represented by the Ducati Corse R&D – Factory MX Team. Seeing the three bikes next to each other was a great emotion for me because, although different from each other, they are part of a single project. This belonging is underlined by the basic colour of the liveries, Ducati Red, the same for all, and also by a completely new graphic sign that recalls the curve present in the Ducati logo, inspired by the most exciting part of riding a motorbike: the bend. At the same time, these bikes are also an expression of the path that Ducati has taken in recent years, investing in its future. The entry into motocross is in fact the clear example that our will to improve and our desire to win have no limits. In these two days we will have the opportunity to give ourselves the right energy for a season that promises to be full of challenges, in which we will try to confirm our leadership in the main track racing world championships and demonstrate our capabilities in a new terrain such as specialist off-road. Challenges have always encouraged us to bring out the best and we feel absolutely ready.”

British MX Nationals

All six rounds are to be contested in the UK, with the Netherlands on hold until 2025

Published

The team behind the NPC have been viewing multiple sites in the UK that will host the 2024 Championship. Much time has been spent analysing sites for the best combination of track layout, public parking, location, access and activation areas. We are excited to show you what we have been working on.

We have received much feedback from people worried about the rising costs in 2024 and how it will affect them and their racing. Living expenses and uncertainty in the motocross industry have increased and further caused caution. We don’t want to put extra pressure on motocross families; we’re trying to do the opposite. With this in mind, and after much deliberation, we will delay our European involvement until 2025 when inflation, living costs and, more importantly, our riders are excited rather than concerned about European expenses.

Although we are disappointed to put this on hold for twelve months after having two outstanding tracks in the Netherlands, it does mean we will double down on our commitment to bring you the best and most challenging tracks in the UK that you can only ride in the NPC. It is a fascinating time for British Motocross, with some absolute gems being found that will help challenge UK motocross riders to race tracks similar in style and toughness to those at a GP race.

Although a wheel has yet to turn in this Championship, we have shown we are willing to listen and change accordingly to ensure we do what is suitable for British motocross. The Championship was launched to help push and elevate British motocross, and since September, when we announced our decision to run, every other organisation and series has stepped up. We are committed to ensuring the foundations are there for the next British World Champion since Jamie Dobb in 2001.

Whether you are a rider at the front looking to gain valuable race craft to take into EMX races next year or looking to improve by riding the best and most challenging tracks in the UK, this series is for you. We’ll also provide a spotlight for you to shine in front of brands, teams and companies around the World.

Our calendar of tracks is starting to take shape, with Oakhanger and Oxford Moto Parc being two of the six already named. We are committed to ensuring every track offers excellent value for our riders and the NPC so we can keep registration and race fees at a minimum whilst providing nearly £100,000 in prize money. The tracks we choose will also offer some of the best racing for spectators at our events and live on the TV. We have tweaked the times and format of the event to provide the optimum environment for great action-packed racing. Forty riders in MX1 and MX2 classes will give everything to provide an exhilarating 20-minute performance.

In year two, we aim to bring a mainstream TV partner to televise the Championship alongside the live stream to increase the exposure to sponsors entering our series further.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and can’t wait to share more information in the new year.

Seewer signs officially for KRT

The Kawasaki Racing Team will line up a strong duo next season; Romain and Jeremy won nine of the nineteen GPs this year and collected twenty podiums between them! Both ended the season on the final series podium with a silver medal for the Frenchman and bronze for the Swiss rider who has already contested the FIM Motocross World Championships for more than a decade.

Runner-up in the MX2 class in 2016 and 2017, Jeremy moved up to MXGP in 2018 and has already collected four series medals in the premier class; three-times silver (2019, 2020 and 2022) and one-time bronze. With thirty GP podiums, eight GP victories and eleven moto wins during the past five seasons he is the most consistent rider of the series and he hasn’t missed a single GP since 2014, finishing all bar nine motos during his 187 GP appearances! After spending his entire MX2 career with one brand he has raced the last six MXGP seasons with another before joining Kawasaki for the coming season; the amiable twenty-nine-year-old Swiss rider will make his racing debut on the KX 450-SR during the International series in February.

Jeremy Seewer: “I’ve been racing a long time with the same brand but I feel very welcome at Kawasaki where everyone has been very open and receptive to me; I think it’s a brand where I can fit in well. I’m looking forward to a long-term relationship and hope for the best; the main goal is to win as often as possible, to have success together, to enjoy working with great people and have fun doing it.”

Steve Guttridge (Race Planning Manager, Kawasaki Motors Europe): “I’ve always been a big fan of Jeremy because of his unreal technical ability on all the bikes I’ve seen him race in the past, both at MX2 and MXGP levels. Along with his obvious driven and professional mentality, it puts him into the very top few competitors in the world and in any conditions that the MXGPs can throw at him! So, to finally welcome him into our KRT MXGP team is indeed a super-exciting situation!  Everyone at Kawasaki wishes him a very warm welcome and success throughout the fast-approaching 2024 season”.

Antti Pyrhonen (KRT team manager): “We at KRT, together with the riders, are working very hard to realise our potential in the coming season. Both Jeremy and Romain knows what they want; they know what they are aiming for and they will receive our utmost support for the task ahead. The 2024 KX450-SR has already proven its potential to be a winning bike in early tests after yet further development by Kawasaki’s R&D department. We are excited for the task ahead and will leave no stone unturned to achieve our goals.”
