The third Monster Energy Supercross round often provides drama. Who can forget that black-flag incident two years ago? Saturday obviously provided similar noteworthy points; Ken Roczen sustained multiple injuries and Jason Anderson was disqualified for raising his hand to another rider. Controversy spread into the days that followed, however, as our American correspondent Steve Matthes has confirmed that Cooper Webb and Weston Peick lost points after jumping on a red-cross flag.
That occurred in the situation where Roczen was down, which was obviously a well-documented area of the circuit. Webb reportedly lost five points in the incident, Peick gave up four and both guys forfeited some purse money also. No rider has released a statement regarding the incident yet.
Speaking of penalties, Jason Anderson will return to action this weekend after being disqualified a week ago.
