Thursday 24th January MX Vice was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the UK Kawasaki team’s. Its got be be the biggest Team launch thats ever happened, with 8 teams on display from every level. When we say every level, don’t start thinking scrimping and saving here, no chance! Chad Yarranton’s Passion team were out in force, they may be called amateur team but Chad’s setup in 2013 is very impressive with no stone unturned with the bikes, gear and also the young ladies on display all looking very good! Yep Chad definitely won with the assistants he brought in with cheeky passion clothing on! LPE the official Kawasaki team have pulled out the stops this year and signed 2 very talented riders with 2011 British Champion Brad Anderson returning, hotshot Dorren Coutts and Connor Walkley. Connor makes the jump from 250 to 450 this year, lets hope we see the potential turn into a top 10 ride for MX1 rider for Walkley, there is no doubting his talent after dominating the schoolboy ranks.
Lanes have a new lineup with Alfie Smith leading the team, Oakleaf were in attendance but missing their top rider Alex Snow as he continues to train with Josh Coppins out in NZ. New teams were in attendance with MJW, Revo Talon, Pendrich and the return of the Team Green youth Team. Nez Parker and Dan Thornhill have made the jump from KTM and Suzuki bikes and looked at home on the stock Kawasaki bikes. Bryan Mackenzie was back on familiar territory with the 250f Kawasaki and looking pretty rapid ahead of the MX2 assault this year.
So all in all Kawasaki look like they are looking to make some serious headway in all championships this year with Ando, Parker, Snow and Coutts all looking for podium positions each week and MX2 will see Mackenzie and 2012 MXY2 Champion Dan Thornhill looking to take the MX2 British Championships and the Redbull Rookie Championship.
