The 2013 UK Arenacross Championship came to a nail-biting finale on Sunday (10th Feb) at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
Buildbase Honda`s Adam Chatfield came to the final round of the series with a nine point lead over Jack Brunell, but both Chatfield and Brunell made it far from easy for themselves.
Chatfield made light work of his first heat but that was when the party ended. A crash in his second heat while leading left him fighting tooth and nail and the lead changed at least four times while he came through to second at the flag. Main contender for the title Brunell failed to qualify for the main event in the heats and had to go through the LCQ to find a place in the final.
The final was a complete free-for-all. Last off the start, Chatfield began to come through the pack only to be landed-on off a jump while Brunel who scraped into the final was leading the all-important, championship deciding main race. Brunell then cracked and crashed handing the lead and the win to last year`s indoor champion Nev` Bradshaw, who overtook Brunell in the 2013 series to snatch a fantastic second overall.
Chatfield came through to a nerve wrecking fourth to lift the Championship trophy for the Buildbase Honda team and provide Honda with a memorable 1-2.

Congratulations to Adam Chatfield and of course the mechanics Ryan Thorpe, Will Irvine and Chris Talbot who have worked tirelessly to bring home this Championship title. Chris Talbot will not only be supporting Steve Sword in his efforts to become 2013 Maxxis MX2 Champion, but will also have his work cut out at the new Dave Thorpe Honda Off Road Centre in Wales.
