Team GB has finally been chosen for the Motocross Des Nations in Germany.
In the end it was Shaun Simpson who got the coveted third spot ahead of Max Anstie. And all three riders are confident in themselves and their teammates that a podium could be a real possibility this year
Here is what they had to say:
Neil Prince – This year Tommy has come on leaps and bounds, Jake is the top MX2 class. Shaun had a difficult start to the year with TM but has come on strong on the Yamaha. I think with these three riders we are capable to making a really good result.
Jake Nicholls –I’m over the moon to be part of it. It has been an up and down season for me. I felt good today and I am really pleased to represent my country for the second time. I feel more comfortable going to Germany than Lommel. Teutschenthal is more of a British track.
Shaun Simpson – It’s been a couple of years since I raced the Nations. Last year Neil made his decision and the riders had their ups and downs. I feel we can do a good job as a team and I like Teutschenthal as a track. I feel I have the speed and I feel I am worth for the third spot. Let’s hope this is the combination to get into the top five or even better.
Tommy Searle –Every year everyone says we can go for the podium. We have to do our best and if we all ride to our potential there is no reason why we can get on the podium, we have three strong riders.
