Absolute Belter At Bredon

Brendon Farm hosted round 13 of the SWOR championship and was set not to disappoint. With the added prospect of winning double points today, every rider taking part in the event was fully pumped and race ready.

Setting off with a blistering start, Rob Bassett, led the way in the Junior 2 group with style.

Bassett was to establish the lead in every race and ultimately taking the top slot in each, and as such takes, a well established points lead into the penultimate round in two weeks time. Strong performances from riders Lee Jackson, Toni Burrows and Lloyd Atwell were to share the spoils of 2nd and 3rd spots over the three races but alas were no match for Bassett’s pace at the front.

The battle in the Seniors lost one of its top contenders today after rider Lee Almond took a bad tumble in Race one and received a nasty cut under his armpit ending his seasons title challenge.

With Almond now out, the title fight now remains with Mark Ferris and James Teenan.

Teenan was to take the win in race one with Ferris only managing a 6th place. Race two was a different story, with a much stronger performance from Ferris, and was enough to snatch race victory from Teenan by a mere second. The two could only manage a third and fourth spot respectively in race three, again only a second apart at the chequered flag, leaving this group with a nail biting penultimate round at Whiteway Barton and may even go to the wire at the last race some weeks later.

Inter 14-16 group were to hit the start line next. Jack Roberts and Dan Mundell excelled in this group today, with some epic racing from the two.

Both riders equalled lap  times set by the experts, and they were having a monumental battle at the front, especially in Race one. These two were literally side by side for an entire lap before the four stroke power of Roberts proved it’s worth over Mundell’s two stroke and saw him pull away at the front.

Robert’s was to win all three  races with Mundell very close behind taking second in each.

With neither rider listed for this years championship, Reegan West was to hold onto his championship title lead and only dropped 6 points to the nearest challenger Tim Moran.

Junior One were out next, providing the crowd with some more exciting racing.

Phil Deeble led the way  with a second place finish in race one and victories in races two and three.

Ben Morrison was responsible for denying Deeble the full house by winning race one, even if it was only by a mere second with Deeble finishing second. Max Sandford also put in a fine performance achieving two third places and in race three taking second place.

Carrying on with fine performances the 9-13 group were no exception.

Jordan Veale was to earn himself the trio of wins although kept very honest in races one and two by second place rider Brent Harris.

Harris could only manage a sixth place in race three after taking a tumble and could only look on as the rest of the pack rode past.

Closing out todays event the “EXPERTS”.

Tyremarks team principle Mark Tillyer must be delighted, as after seeing one of his riders lose out through injury, a few rounds back, another was to take up the reins at the front in the form of Mike Rowe.

Rowe seemed unbeatable today, and after a trio of wins in the last round, Rowe set about the task in hand and provided himself with another full house. Taking almost perfect racing lines throughout , Rowe glided through today’s proceedings with a sense of ease.

Ben Butler was to chase Rowe hard in races one and two, finishing only half a second behind in race one, and again only a second behind in race two.

However Rowe seemed undeterred, remained calm and took a more comfortable win in race three by finishing 10 seconds clear.

With the points difference that Rowe now has at the top, it could see him clinch the title in the next round, but as we all know anything could happen in MX so we will have wait and see.
