E22 Sports scraps membership fee
Arenacross promoter E22 Sports has dropped the £199 series membership fee for Youth riders and is now taking entries on a round-by-round basis in a move intended to kick-start the sport in the New Year.
“We understand that times are tough at the moment,” explains E22 Sports Managing Director Matt Bates. “We also understand that Arenacross is new to the calendar so families may not have budgeted for it so early in the 2013 season. We’re committed to developing young talent in the UK and if waiving the membership fee helps then we’re willing to change our approach.”
Entry fees will remain pegged at £99 per round with a rider’s best three results from the four-round series to count towards the championship. Riders who have already paid their membership fee for the series will receive a full refund.
The series kicks off on January 12 at The O2 arena in London before travelling to the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, on January 19, the series then recrosses the Irish Sea for round three at the LG Arena, Birmingham, on February 2 before signing off with a special ‘matinee’ event at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, on February 10.
