Injury Hit: Romain Febvre
Romain Febvre awaits more scans.

16Â May (20:58) |
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing have now confirmed that Romain Febvre will be on the starting line at the Grand Prix of Germany. “A specialist has confirmed that there are no broken bones,” a statement revealed. “The pain and inflammation stems from the damage that has been caused to the tendons. It will make riding uncomfortable and painful.” Febvre was fifth overall at Teutschenthal last year, but did win at the venue in his title-winning season. Fourth is the position that the former champion currently occupies in the championship standings.

Romain Febvre has released a statement on his social media, which confirms that nothing is broken. However, despite that, it seems as though it could take quite a while for him to get back to one hundred percent. The post that he sent out can be viewed below, then this page will be updated when his status for the upcoming rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship is confirmed.
14 May (06:56) |
Romain Febvre appeared to be in agony when he crashed out of the second moto at the Grand Prix of Latvia. It seemed as though he was immediately favouring his arm, as he clutched it and trudged to the medical centre, and then he was still struggling with it when he was spotted at the circuit a couple of hours after the final moto.
It seems as though no significant injury has been identified at this point though, although more scans are still to come. “P3 and DNF today at Latvia,” Febvre wrote on his social media account. “Frustrating day!! Will make some exams of my arm next week and hope it will be not serious.” A statement from Yamaha did not get much away either. “Febvre did not rejoin the race due to a suspected arm injury. An update on his condition will be posted when available,” is all that has been said at this point.
Following his first DNF of the season, Romain Febvre runs fourth in the FIM Motocross World Championship and twenty-one points down on the guy in third. One hundred and thirteen points separate him from the series leader. Teutschenthal, the Grand Prix of Germany, will take place next weekend, so the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing, so the former champion does not have too long to turn things around.
