Underdog Race Report – Brookthorpe

This weekend was to see the team head to  Brookthorpe  for round 6  round of the British masters minus Adam wells in the pro MX 2 class out due to injury.

Newly signed rider Jamie Ellis in the MXY2  group was looking to drag back as many points as possible after a DNF at fat cats cost him the lead in the championship.

Moto 1 Jamie had a decent start and the lead pack broke away quickly with Jamie in 3rd until lap 3 when he made a move to second with nothing between the top four Jamie kept his cool and pounced on lap 5 to take the lead to the finish with nothing between the front three.

Moto2 Jamie had a disastrous start and in 17th place on lap one he pushed hard making a few mistakes to come home 8th with great determination. Moto3 a great jump from the gate and pushed hard to finish 1st again. With it all to play for in Moto4 a great race with passing on corner after corner then Jamie made a break but on the last lap with 4 corners to go Jamie left the door open and was passed to come home 2nd  giving him 3rd overall a great effort and some lessons learnt.

Also in action this weekend and joining the team for the first time this season was Mx1 rider Jamie Dobson who qualified well but in Mot 1 hit the ground hard leaving him that concussed and confused  he did an extra 2 laps after the checkered flag and remembered nothing about it  he scored 13th,10th,7th and 4th to give him 7th overall.

In  the Pirelli MX2 Aidan Wigger and Ryan King wear looking to climb the championship ladder with some good effort and a bit of bad luck for both riders Aiden consolidated his 3rd position in the championship and Ryan remained 5th  with Wigger having a puncture in Moto3 and king having his sub frame snap in Moto 3 giving them 5th and 15th respectively.

Travis field on the 85 small wheel joined his team mates for the first time this season having  moved up to the 85 small wheel class and had a good weekend seeing him get to grips with his new bike improving his lap times over the weekend and finish 10th overall in the small wheel class.

Other results for the team Toby Owen finished inside the top 20 with 17th overall ,Chris Peaty 24th in mx1 Lewis Wigger28th.

A great weekend with a fantastic Atmosphere just one round left and the last in the teams current set up with a major change next season to the Underdog Team

I would like  to thank all the sponsors for their continued support and the riders and parents for their hard work and determination.
