Ten days prior the next GP which will be raced in Valkenswaard on Easter Monday, many of the top MX1 riders took part in the Dutch series raced in Oldebroek today. Both Xavier Boog and Rui Gonçalves wanted to test their speed on sand before the first GP of the season on the European soil. The conditions in Oldebroek were very cold as the top riders started the race this morning, yet both ICE1Racing riders were able to get good starts in the first heat and they were leading the race after the holeshot. “Today served as a great test race for the GP in Valkenswaard and we were able to test a few new settings in race conditions. Rui was able to get solid rounds and a great practice prior the Easter event on sand”, commented the team manager Antti Pyrhönen after the race. Rui Gonçalves finished fifth in the first heat which was won by Evgeny Bobryshev RUS (Honda), followed byJeremy van Horebeek NED (Kawasaki) and Tanel Leok EST (Honda). In the second heat Gonçalves was fourth behind Evgeny Bobryshev, Tanel Leok and Jeremy van Horebeek. |
