Rider News: Austin Forkner

It is easy to forget that Austin Forkner did not have a ton of time on the bike prior to Hangtown, round one of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series, especially considering the way that he performed on the rugged circuit. Things ended on a sour note for the bright star at that event though, as he withdrew from the final encounter with a rib issue.

First moto was solid all around for my first race backI thought I rode good,” Forkner wrote on his social media. “Second moto my holeshot device released out of the gate; the bars came up and slammed my chest and kinda popped some ribs out of place, which made it hard to breathe and then they just started to hurt more and more as the moto went on. Didn’t wanna risk crashing again and really wasn’t worth it since I was like mid-pack. Bummer on that one, but we’ll be back for Glen Helen.”

Following that issue in the second moto, Austin Forkner already faces a deficit of thirty-two points to the current series leader. The second round, Glen Helen, will be run this weekend.
