Despite the fact that the RCH team is no more, Ricky Carmichael will continue as a brand ambassador for Suzuki. Carmichael has filled the position since he retired from professional racing at the end of 2007 and will continue for the next couple of years at least, as the new agreement is a multi-year deal.
“I won championships and wrapped up my racing career on a Suzuki, so obviously the brand is near to my heart,” Carmichael said in a press release. “With the increased emphasis and importance on Suzuki in the U.S., I am looking forward to doing what I can to help further develop its products and racing success.“
Carmichael will continue to be an integral part of the RM Army, the Camp Carmichael programme and provide support to those on the Suzuki amateur team. Additionally, Carmichael will interact with those on the Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing squad. Weston Peick, Justin Bogle, Phil Nicoletti, Kyle Peters, Jimmy Decotis and Justin Hill will represent that team next year.
