Catching Up with: Josh Waterman

Josh Waterman has always been a fan favourite, for a number of reasons. Why is that? Well, he is always approachable, he gives it one-hundred percent, and he has an awesome family around him. Waterman is your typical hardworking rider that appreciates everything he has, and lives for motocross. So, with the UK’s newest motocross series getting ever closer ,and the pro class full to the brim with eighty talented riders, we caught up with Josh to find out what he thinks about the fast approaching season.

MX Vice: So, Josh, what made you want to ride the MX Nationals?

Waterman: It sounds like it’s going to be good series, it has been well promoted, and it will get good coverage throughout 2014.

MX Vice: There are a few championships out there at the moment, but what do you think is going to be the best part about the MX Nationals?

Waterman: The prices are cheap for the public, so hopefully this will encourage a lot of spectators, which will liven up the atmosphere and all the tracks are good on the calendar.

MX Vice: What track are you most looking forward to riding in the series, and why?

Waterman: I’m keen for every track!

MX Vice: What are your goals and expectations for the series? There are some very strong riders in the eighty qualifiers that will be looking to make it into the fastest forty?

Waterman: I want to make it as close as I can to the podium, and to be consistent!

MX Vice: What track would you like to see on the calendar for 2015?

Waterman: [It] doesn’t make any difference to me, as long as they are well prepared.

MX Vice: What other series and races will you be doing this year?

Waterman: I’ll be competing in the Maxxis British Championship and the Red Bull Pro Nationals.

MX Vice: What is your favourite practice track?

Waterman: Any of the Thornbury MX tracks – all of them are great fun to ride, and good value.

MX Vice: Would you like to give a shoutout to anyone that’s helped you?
