Injury Update: Jamie Carpenter

It’s been an unfortunate day for the rookies who contest the Maxxis British Championship. First Dylan Woodcock bowed out with a minor injury, now Jamie Carpenter has been forced to give up on his year completely after the severity of the injuries that he sustained at Lyng were confirmed.

Unfortunately the 2017 season has come to a very early end for me, as it’s just been confirmed that I’ve snapped my ACL and damaged my MCL,” Carpenter stated. “I will need surgery, but I will have to wait for the third-degree burn that I sustained at the same time to heal first. I felt very happy at the last round of the Maxxis British Championship at Lyng, after qualifying eleventh I felt I was in a good position to break into the top ten.

Time for me now to rest up, heal up and then start preparation for 2018,” he continued. “I feel very fortunate to have the right people around me, who I know I can rely on to help me recover from this and come back even stronger.

There is currently no timeline on Carpenter’s recovery, nor is there any information on whether REVO Husqvarna will search for a fill-in rider.
