That didn’t take long, did it? The list of injured riders has grown by three, following the first Grand Prix of the new season. But, hey, at least the title contenders are somewhat fit and in one piece, as Jeffrey Herlings is prepared to march on despite the pain.

Jeffrey Herlings: It is fair to say that the Grand Prix of Qatar did not quite go to plan for Jeffrey Herlings, who was aiming for between fourteen and twenty points. Despite that, as well as some post-race struggles, Herlings is back to try and salvage more points this weekend.

Out of the GP of Indonesia
Petar Petrov: Petar Petrov, who most had tipped for some career-best results this year, was already injured entering the first round. A further crash forced him to re-evaluate his situation and head for the sidelines. There is no timetable on his return.
Michael Ivanov: One may have seen Michael Ivanov hit the ground very early on in the first moto on Sunday. That was a crash that left him with a crack in his left thumb, sore shoulder and blow to the head. It has not yet been determined how much time the Honda rider will miss.
Caleb Ward: Caleb Ward is questionable for the second round of the FIM Motocross World Championship this weekend. Ward, who was making his MX2 debut a week ago, sustained an unspecified injury in time practice and then withdrew from proceedings. The Australian simply stated that he’ll “rest up and be back ASAP!”
Tommy Searle: Oh, Tommy Searle! The Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki rider desperately needed a strong start to the season, but a knee injury will keep him on the sidelines through the first four rounds. Pietramurata is the earliest that we will see ‘100’ and, yes, that means he’ll miss the first round of the Maxxis British Championship.
