Gariboldi Racing is proud to announce his new association with Honda for the coming season 2012 for his third year in the Motocross World Championship.
Riders roster will be filled by top young British rider Max Anstie (18 years old), the most impressive new comer in this Grand Prix season with a 6th place overall finishing in the world championship and the 3rd place in the last GP of the season in Italy, and top young Russian Aleksandr Tonkov (18 yrs old), leader of the European championship 2011 until he stopped by an injury and now one of the most promising future stars of the MX circus.
Gariboldi Racing’s reputation to upgrade young talents and take them to the forefront of the European rankings can now even improve thanks to Honda, HM and Martin engineering with the most competitive CRF250R ever seen at the Grand Prix scene for many years.
“With this new challenge we really want to make a step further at the highest level and have the chance to have an opportunity to win a world title,” commented team owner/manager Giacomo Gariboldi, “we were not interested to stay in the circus just for a top ten finish, we want to win something as we did in 2009 with the European title. We have two of the best youngsters now in MX2 and we cannot hide our ambitions to carry our CRF250R in regular contention for podiums next season. Our team has reached a very high level in the past three seasons and with the HM effort and with Paolo Martin’s support, knowledge and expertise on the CRF, we have added what we need to point at the highest results. I wish to thank particularly Paolo Martin, who has been the promoter of our move to Honda and we all hope to reward his trust in our team and in Massimo Castelli, our team director.”
Honda Gariboldi will start the 2012 season on January 7th in the West Coast Supercross Lites with Max Anstie making his debut on the CRF250R and attending Anaheim 1, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Oakland, Anaheim 2 and San Diego rounds, before returning to Europe for the start of the MX2-GP season where the two riders will be engaged. Beside Honda, HM and Martin engineering, this new venture on both sides of the Atlantic is possible thanks to the strong support of ESTA MOTORSPORTS, which is part of the ESTA GROUP, Progrip, Kayaba/Technical Touch, Ipone, Pirelli, Airoh, Gaerne, Easton, Newfren, Twin-Air, Racetech, Blackbird, X-Trig, Haan Wheels, Hinson, Matrix, Profilter, Mototassinari and Carat, all partners of the team for the Supercross series and for the Grand Prix season.
