Tomac: Nicht das beste Wochenende

Die zehnte Saisonstation der Lucas Oil Pro AMA MotoCross Series in Unadilla war nicht das beste Wochenende für Kawasaki-Pilot Eli Tomac, der am Ende in der Tageswertung nur Vierter wurde. Trotzdem führt er in der 450MX-Gesamtwertung noch komfortabel das Feld an.
Tomac hatte im ersten Lauf noch den Holeshot gewonnen, war dann aber auf Platz sieben abgerutscht und kam mit 39 Sekunden Rückstand auf den Sieger ins Ziel. Im zweiten Lauf konnte er als dritter noch ein Laufpodium holen.
„Auch wenn meine Starts besser waren und ich im ersten Lauf sogar den Holeshot holen konnte, war heute ein harter Tag“, grübelte Tomac.
„Die Strecke war eine echte Herausforderung und es ging körperlich echt an die Grenzen. Im ersten Lauf habe ich keinen Fluss rein bekommen. Im zweiten Lauf lief es besser, da habe ich ein starkes Finish hinbekommen.“
„Das waren heue nicht meine besten Ergebnisse, aber der vierte Tagesrang ist auch recht anständig“, fasste er ein positives Resümee. „Ich bin gesund und für die letzten beiden Meisterschaftsläufe in einer guten Position, um das Gesamtziel zu erreichen: Den Titel zu gewinnen.“
Tomac liegt in der Königsklasse vor der vorletzten Saisonstation in Budds Creek mit 40 Punkten Vorsprung an der Spitze. Kommende Woche wird er daher auf die Konkurrenz angewiesen sein, wenn er den Titel gewinnen will, denn aus Budds Creek müsste er mit wenigstens 50 Punkten Vorsprung abreisen, um vorzeitig Meister zu werden.

In a brutal blow, Barcia has revealed he’s suffered a few broken ribs, has a badly broken collarbone and a beat up lung. Here’s his post below.
