First round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals, saw us travelling South to Landrake Moto Park, Saltash, Plymouth.
The weather could not have been better, the sun was shining, and the track looked good, well watered.
Saturday saw the Rookies out first for qualifying, had a good qualifier, qualified 2nd behind Jake Millward.
1st race out the gate in about third, managed to pull myself into second behind Jake.
2nd race gated in about 6th place, track was rough, riding hard, overtook a couple of riders and found myself in fourth, which I had to settle with.
3rd race, disappointing start, gated in about 10th, worked through riders, track was very narley and I eventually finished 6th.
An early night on the agenda, ready for another hard days racing.
Sunday weather was fab, track was prepared well, and they had soaked the track through the night.
To the line for Race 4, sighting lap, back to the holding pen, had a fantastic start, the holeshot, round the first corners got away had a five second lead, but disaster struck, on the last lap made a stupid mistake, and went over the bars and Jake overtook me, I came over the line in second, but was really annoyed with myself.
Race 5, was determined to not let race 4 phase me, got out the gate in about fourth, found myself pushing hard, and in second place after a couple of corners. Millward was in the lead, a couple of laps into the race and Millward got tangled with another rider, and I went into the lead.
A hard race developed, Alba and Garland behind, putting the pressure on me. But a fantastic result for me as I took the chequered flag, for my first race win in the Rookies.
Brilliant weekend finishing 2nd overall, really chuffed with myself.
