An event with a difference was hosted on the evening of Saturday 23rd Feb at Broad Plain Boxing Club in Bristol.
The MX Reunion ‘Back in the day the MX way’ saw over 60 riders, supporters and parents turn up to re live the good old days though plenty of stories, photos, reports, trophies and a display of a few bikes.
With a special thanks to the BSMA who sponsored the buffet the guests were well fed and watered throughout the evening which enabled them to elaborate on the stories even further with faster laps and bigger jumps. As the saying goes, the older I get the faster I was!!
The event was not just about having a great time with old mates but also to raise money for the Forever Friends Appeal at the Bath RUH who are helping to build a new Cancer Unit at the hospital. Once again with huge thanks the BSMA donated the wall of previous finals winners’ names which made up the back drop of their stand at the Dirt bike Show to be auctioned off. The lucky owner who donated greatly to the charity is Jason Edwards from Edwards Car Company in Box.
Mark and Emma Hucklebridge from Moredon Club and Hucklebridge Events who jointly hosted the event would like to thank everyone for attending and for the generosity of all which raised £230 for the charity.
As many people may know Mark Hucklebridge has received a lot of treatment for Bowel Cancer over the past two and a half years and is still undergoing tests at present. Despite having a large part of his Bowel removed, part of one lung and part of his liver he is running the Bath Half Marathon this weekend, Sunday 3rd March for the same charity.
