This weekend Sept 14/15 see’s the worlds biggest Vintage Motocross event come to Farleigh Castle,England. With 16 teams entering from around the world this is going to another massive event and one not to miss. The ‘Dave Thorpe Evo Series’ championship which runs under the ACU banner over eight rounds will be one of these sixteen teams lining up to compete for the ‘George Jobe’ trophy over the two day event. The team consists of four riders that have been competing in this year’s championship and names that are know too many within the sport.
Watch out for numbers 14, 15, 16 and 17 with riders Phil Lewis, Phil Mercer, Rick Du Feu and Brian Wheeler aiming for a podium finish with help from ‘Dextra’ Group plc, DQMX, MXM Graphics, Dunlop Tyres, CI Sport, Bomb Print, Chambers Engineering, Troy Lee Design, MD Racing and of course MX Vice. Another front runner for the team race will be our 500cc champion Glen Philips; however he will be representing Wales again on his JS Racing Kawasaki.
Team’s and riders will be arriving from Thursday onwards with over 500 riders taking part over Saturday and Sunday many of these competing over the weekend have also been supporting the ‘DT Series’ during the course of 2013.
The Dave Thorpe Evo Series is a Fun, family orientated championship which is based on Motocross bikes from the 80’s the “Golden Era” of British Motocross and where Dave Thorpe won his three 500cc world championships. We try to make this not only Fun but affordable and visit many top venue over the eight rounds. The growing popularity of the ‘Evo’ scene is proven by the size and interest shown around the world in the Vets MXdN this coming weekend.
