Team CCR TM has had a quiet end to the summer with ride Stuart Edmonds getting injured while running top 3 at Foxhills in June. We have been working with Stuart with the help of many of his and our supporters to get Stuart back in time for the MXON which he was picked for. Unfortunately the injury has not healed in time and Stuart is unable to travel with the team. For now we are looking at team plans for 2014 getting all our riders and sponsors confirmed. We will have a good head start on preparation so we can be ready for the first gate drop next year.
”The past few weeks I have been working hard to get myself back to fitness. I’ve put a lot of hours in with my trainer Kenneth Spillane from Macho Martial Arts and fitness doing double sessions 3 days a week getting my strength and motor skills back in my wrist and upper body. I have also been going to a brilliant Physiotherapist by the name of Colum O Neil in Jonesborough and he has got me to near top conditions with more to come. I have also took a liking to cross country cycling these past few weeks getting out with Colm ‘the snapper’ O’Byrne and fellow friend and racer Michael Mahon from Dublin and they have kept me on my game leaving me on the Hill to fight and catch up with them but it has been fun and a good laugh for us all.
As a lot of you know I have made the very hard decision to with draw myself from the Motocross Of Nations, it was a big decision as it has been my dream as a kid to ride for Ireland in such a big event as that so every time I am picked it is an exciting time of year for me no matter how many times I ride it or get picked for it. My decision made was a wise one and I listened to a lot of close friends and people that support me to just to scrap this year and concentrate on 2014. It still hampers me a bit on a mountain bike so I would not be ready for a motocross bike at all. So it was time to give my place up to Gary Gibson I know he will ride his heart out and I am sure Graeme and Martin will to so I wish the boys all the luck they deserve and to go straight into the A final and no B final. We did is last year and there is no stopping us from doing it this year.
I am going to concentrate on getting myself back in action and in a month or so I will probably get my leg back over the bike and slowly ride it round and hopefully It won’t take long to get my bike fitness back to where it was in July so that I will be fighting and ready for 2014.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my sponsor that have helped me throughout the year and that I’m sorry for it being a short one but next year I will make up for it.
