Last year’s winner of the AMCA Championship MX1 Luke Dean has had a very up and down kind of season. Getting some very good results and getting some bad ones. This year the AMCA seen some tough competition in the MX1 class with the likes of Luke Burton and Gary Gibson coming in! We caught up with Luke to see how things were going…
MX Vice: How has this year gone?
Luke Dean: This year hasn’t really gone to plan from the overall result but through the year we had some great finishes! The speed was there but I’ve had some bad luck this season like at Frocester with a stone going though my Goggles and cutting me eye and forehead open! However it’s been a okay year for me just had some bad luck.
What series’ are you doing next year?
I will be competing in the MX2 class next year as dripping down to a YZF250 for Sevenseven2 Yamaha UK.
Have you set your goals for this/next year?
Yeah after winning the AMCA Championship in 2015, I know winning it again was going to be hard with the riders coming in! The 2017 plan is to get used to a 250f and hopefully 2017 should be a great year.
Do you feel like you’ve made a lot of progression this year?
Yes definitely, I’ve made progress even tho it wasn’t the year we were looking for! I had some great results and know what I need to do for 2017.
Do you ride much during the week?
Nah unfortunately I don’t as I am a stay at home Dad for my son Chase, I don’t have time to go riding.
Is there anyone you would like to thank for the help throughout the last 12 months?
