|Uddevalla hosted the tenth MX World Championship GP on the hard packed track of Uddevalla. The muddy conditions from qualifying day had dried out for the motos, but ICE1Racing riderXavier Boog was challenged, as he struggled with his starts. His solid riding brought Boog position by position up and he finished strong eighth.|
|The tenth GP of the MX World Championship in Uddevalla was raced today in perfect motocross conditions. The muddy track from the qualifying day had dried out and the still slightly rutted track was offering more lines for the riders to choose from.|
ICE1Racing rider Xavier Boog was struggling with his starts in both of the motos, as he came from the first corner sixteenth and had to climb position by position.
“I am not satisfied with the result, but I believe we are on the right way, the race rhythm is getting better. In the last race I was able to finish with the same result with perfect starts. Now the starts weren’t good, but I was able to climb up. Once we get the combination working I am sure we will make results”, summed confident Boog after the race.
Antonio Cairoli ITA (KTM) won the first moto, Maximilian Nagl GER (Honda) was second and Clement Desalle BEL (Suzuki) was third. Boog finished the first moto eleventh.
The second moto was slightly better for Boog.
“Xavier made mistake in the first moto which pressed his result down a few positions. The second moto was very good riding although the bad start. It was great to have him passing riders on this track which doesn’t leave many places for passing. The combination of a good race is coming together in no time”, boosted the team manager Antti Pyrhönen.
Antonio Cairoli ITA (KTM) won also the second moto, Ken de Dycker BEL (KTM) was second and Clement Desalle BEL (Suzuki)finished third afterTommy SearleGBR (Kawasaki) received a penalty and was pushed back ten positions. Boog finished seventh. Antonio Cairoli won the GP classification, Ken de Dycker was second and Clement Desalle was third. Boog finished eighth in the overall classification of the GP.
Xavier Boog is currently twelfth in the overall classification with 160 points. Rui Gonçalves, who was standing by Uddevalla due to a knee operation, remains ninth in the standings with 180 points.
The tour moves to Kegums in Latvia for the race in July 7th.
