BEC Heads To Yorkshire For Round Two

The 2013 ACU British Enduro Championship returns to the pine forests and rolling hills of
Helmsley in North Yorkshire over the weekend of May 4-5 for the second round of the UK’s
premier enduro championship. Promoters Dirtbike Action have been hard at work putting
together a 25-mile all off-road course together with two special tests. Conditions remain dry and
the course has been carefully devised to remain rideable by all levels of rider, while the time
schedule and tests are bound to ensure the championship and expert riders are properly tested.
Last year’s vice-champion (and outright champion in 2007 and ’08) Tom Sagar (Colwyn Bay
KTM) will go to Helmsley on something of a roll. After a double victory at the first round – the
Elgin Enduro in Scotland – in March, Sagar has since taken an outright win at the first round of
the European Enduro Championship and will surely be the man to beat, although the continuing
good form of Jamie Lewis (Edmondson Racing Proseal HM Moto) is sure to see Sagar kept on
his toes. The Expert class is sure to be as hotly contested with last year’s hot shots Rob
Johnson and Brad Freeman keen to respond to the amazing speed of newbie (Scottish
motocrosser) Ryan McLean. In the Clubman class there’s a battle of the Lee’s as Lee Sealey and
Lee Green are finding themselves evenly matched despite the former riding a 300 and the latter
a 125!
