Beach Assault! – CCR TM

Round two of the ever popular Red Bull Pro Nationals took place this past weekend on the sands of Weston Super Mare and what a weekend it turned out to be.

The forecasted poor weather was replaced with glorious sunshine for the most, albeit with a stiff sea breeze at times and the made man sand circuit certainly held up well over the two days of action, definitely sorting the men from the boys as it roughed up over the course of the event!.

Team CCR TM made the run down south and here is a brief run-down of the results of the team.

Stuart Edmonds, competing in the Pro National MX1 class, got of to a shaky start in Saturday’s qualifying but came good in the end taking 8th overall after completing the three race schedule, Stuart’s first race witnessed him get a flying start start but some mistakes early on left him with work to do to come back to finish in 8th place.

In race two another good start did not bear fruit as some arm fatigue plagued him during the race and his race position slid, however Stuart battled on to end the race in 12th place.

The last race of the weekend was the highlight for Stuart as another tidy getaway from the gate gave him the advantage but it was soon lost as the first turn melee enveloped him and halted his progress, however in the last ten minutes of the final moto Stuart found some incredible pace and scythed through the field to take an amazing 5th place with a storming ride. Stuart now sits in 8th place in the championship standings.

“Weston was a great event put on once again by events 22. It was great to see all the fans and gave us a chance to catch up with a few sponsors which was great. As a team we are learning every weekend and making progress. We know we have the tools and rider to run up front we just need it all to click into place, but we look forward to the next event which is always a good venue for us. As always thanks to Mike for everything and to Phil for helping us get ready. “

Stuart Edmonds:

“Weston was an interesting weekend for me the track was good and i had mega starts. I made a few mistakes in the race which cost me places during the races but I still managed an 8th overall i know I am capable of much more but I have a few things to iron out. I know i have the speed and we have what it takes to knock on that top step! I am looking forward to sticking in a strong result at foxhills.”
