Geoff Rogers 1930 – 2013
It is with great sadness that we heard of the death of Geoff Rogers. Geoff was an active member of the Clee Hill Victors Motorcycle Club for over 25 years. Geoff’s interest in motorcycles began at the early age of 14!!! when he would entertain the locals racing around the village of Cardington on one of his many British classic motorcycles. At the age of 18 he joined the army as a tank driver in Africa. On returning he completed his electrical apprenticeship before he started his own business in 1973.
In 1984 Geoff became a social member of the CHV where he was known for his determination in winning “10p nearest the bottle of whisky competition”!!! During his membership he was awarded the position of Club President which he held for many years. He was known by many both here and abroad for his friendship, with, banter and would take any opportunity to tell a joke.
Geoff shared his passion for motocross with his family, which included his two sons Kev and Steve who will always be grateful for his vast knowledge, experience and his unconditional support throughout their motocross racing years.
Geoff leaves his wife Cilla, children Sue, Steve, Julie, Kev and Grandchildren.
Geoff loved The Llan, Twitchen and it is planned to organise a motorcycle procession for all who knew him and wish to participate from The Hundred House, Purslow to The Llan before laying him to rest there – the place he loved. The family would love you to join the procession on two or four wheels and go along and tell them your tales about Geoff. For details please email [email protected] or telephone Steve Rogers 01743 366257 or Kev Rogers 0781 4731257.
