World Championship point for Lotte van Drunen, many points for Benoit Paturel in Lommel

The MXGP of Flanders has turned out very positively for the De Baets MX team. Lotte van Drunen started with a wildcard in the MX2 class and managed to score a World Championship point in this class. In addition, Benoit Paturel scored fifteen important points in the MXGP class.

The conditions were tough in Lommel. The sandy track in combination with the high temperatures made it hard for the riders. Lotte van Drunen competed in the MX2 class for the first time in her career and immediately managed to show good things on Saturday. Among the boys, she managed to set a seventeenth time in time practice and eventually qualified 23rd for the race on Sunday.

In the gruelling motos on Sunday, the goal was to reach the finish line in both motos. She succeeded and also managed to score a World Championship point with a twentieth place.

Benoit Paturel also had a positive weekend. Although riding sand is not his favorite, he gave everything he had and managed to qualify twelfth for the race on Saturday.

On Sunday, he added two consistent motos. Paturel crossed the finish line in thirteenth and fourteenth place and finished fourteenth in the general classification. Paturel is also in fourteenth place in the world championship standings.

In the weekend of 10 and 11 August, the world championship will continue in Uddevalla, Sweden.
