Jett Lawrence to Miss Entire SMX Playoff Series Due to Ongoing Ankle Issues

Jett Lawrence will not compete again this year during the SMX Playoffs. The Australian, together with his team, has decided to sit out the entire SMX series in order to allow his ankle to fully recover and avoid taking unnecessary risks with his long-term career in mind.

Lawrence had been dealing with ongoing ankle issues throughout the Pro Motocross season. Despite riding through the summer, he says the ankle had not felt right since the beginning of the season. Following the season finale at Ironman Raceway, the symptoms became even worse.

“I pushed through the entire summer and did everything I could, but my ankle hasn’t felt right since the beginning of the season, and after Ironman it actually got worse,” Lawrence said.

The focus is now fully on recovery. Lawrence wants to make sure he is completely pain-free before resuming his preparations for the 2027 season.

“I want to do everything I can to get back to being myself. The most important thing is to get pain-free while working towards next year. Thank you to my team, family and fans. See you soon.”
