Tom Brunet has suffered a major setback shortly after competing in the EMX250 class in Arnhem. The Team VHR Yamaha rider crashed during a training session and will consequently undergo surgery.
Brunet lined up for the EMX250 race at the MXGP of the Netherlands in Arnhem last weekend, but his focus is now fully on his recovery.
Team VHR Yamaha announced the news on social media and said that the entire team is deeply affected by the young Frenchman’s injury.
Team VHR Yamaha:
“Unfortunately, this is news we would rather not have shared. Tom was injured during training and will unfortunately have to undergo surgery. The entire team is deeply affected and stands behind him. We wish him all the best for the surgery and, above all, a smooth recovery. We hope to see him back at full fitness soon.”
The team has not yet released any further details about the exact nature of the injury or the expected recovery time. For Brunet, the coming period will be fully focused on surgery and rehabilitation.
