Jeffrey Herlings completed a perfect weekend at the MXGP of the Netherlands in Arnhem. After winning the opening moto, the Dutchman was also victorious in race two. With a perfect 1-1 score, Herlings convincingly secured the Grand Prix victory in front of his home crowd.
Herlings took the lead immediately in the second moto but came under sustained pressure from Kay de Wolf. De Wolf stayed right on his fellow Dutchman’s rear wheel and kept the pressure on. However, he crashed on the penultimate lap, allowing Herlings to ride on to victory without any further problems.
Despite the crash, De Wolf managed to hold on to second place. Tom Vialle crossed the finish line in third. Glenn Coldenhoff produced a strong ride in the final Grand Prix of his career to finish fourth, while Romain Febvre took fifth.
With victories in both motos, the overall Grand Prix win went to Jeffrey Herlings. Kay de Wolf completed a memorable day for the Dutch fans by finishing second overall, while Tom Vialle took the final step of the podium.
Tim Gajser finished fourth overall. Glenn Coldenhoff brought his final Grand Prix to a close with an impressive fifth place overall, giving the Dutchman a fitting end to his remarkable GP career in front of his home crowd.
